Today's meeting was exceptionally well received and was without doubt the most successful meeting to date. All the speakers received exceptionally high ratings, and the feedback from the attendees I spoke to was very positive indeed !!
The presentations from Aileen Hannah on Windows 7 & Gareth Hall on Windows Server 2008 R” showed how there were some compelling up-sell opportunities between the products and comprehensively covered the key business benefits of adopting these technologies, especially when combined together.
Dan Scarfe provided a great overview of the Windows Azure platform, including the opportunities for developers, ISV’s and also explained how customers can make considerable savings on web based applications with on-the-fly provisioning of server capacity, storage and processing power during periods of peak demand. A very useful and informative presentation.
After the break, Darren Shirlaws gave a fascinating insight into the world of und management and market predictions. Darren’s presentation was an engaging, exciting and very valuable talk that all business owners and BDM’s would have found particularly useful. Darren showed how the trends in the economy are totally predictable and were based on the historic movements of the FTSE 100 and other markets. Of particular value were how customers buying patterns and behaviours are predictable based on economic trends and the patterns seen in the FTSE graphs (and in other global economies) Everyone, almost without exception rated this talk the most highly of the day with some attendees providing an 11 out of 10 rating !!
Stephen Roberts from Kable provided a great insight into spending in the public sector ICT market and how partners can look for specific opportunities within this market including working with prime contractors. Stephen also outlined the trend insight in how Partners can make the most of working in the public sector.
Donna Whitehead also provided an update on the current VFI activities and the role of the VFI as a voice to Brussels.
All in All today’s event was a feature packed, well attended and very well received meeting. We are delighted that everyone got so much out of the event and we are looking forward now to the next meeting, although it seems that it may be a difficult act to follow !!
Thanks are due to all the speakers for their input and to everyone involved in the event to make it such a resounding success !!
